Why can it please and destroy?
Why do people say they are in love after a week?
How come it is better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all?
How can love make me feel so alive?
What is true love?
When do people know they have found true love?
How can you love one persons flaws when they hate them?
Why do you love me?
How strong can love be?
We wrote theses poems in class while Dania was teaching our class. I found this a lot of fun and i also found out a lot about other people and what they think. We had a group of about six and each of us had to write a question to the question Questions we have about love. Then as the paper went around a couple of time you got to see what people wrote and the poem it created. For me who does not know how to write poetry this was a great way to introduce me to write it, its fun and easy. I was glad that we did it, and thank you Dania

The Road Not Taken
I chose this poem for many reasons, because as college nears I know that there is going to be many roads that open and there will be some good roads and bad roads and i only get to choose one. As I read this poem i took the structure into consideration because it is only one stanza and in the poem it states in line 2 "And sorry I could not travel both" this made me refer to the structure because he could not travel both and maybe that is why there is only one stanza. I like how he stands at the start of both roads and looks down each of them just as far as the other, which to me tells he gives each road a good or equal chance and does not just go down one road with out looking down the other. He also explains to us that one road is less traveled than the other which tells me that more people follow one another down a road instead of making a decision for themselves. At the end of the stanza he claims that he took the road that was less traveled and it has made all the differences. Im glad that he chose this road because this road has not been given the chance and he was the first to, and because he gave it a chance it ended up being a very rewarding road.

Introduction to Poetry
This poem has been brought up once before in our class on the first day of school, and it came to mind maybe you put it back on the poem sheet to see how much we have matured in reading poems and to see if we have taken the tips from within the poem and properly use them. Billy Collins I believe wrote this poem to help teach poems in general, because I believe that he feels people dig to deep into poems and really try and pull out this great meaning when in a reality it had nothing to do with the poem. So he is try to get away from "beating it with a hose to find out what it really means" and just relax and read the poem as it should be because the true meaning lies right in the words the poet used. I really like line 7 when Collins says " or walk inside the poem's room and feel the walls for a light switch." After reading this I can really relate a lot because this is how I felt every time I read a poem. I felt that I had to make this great big claim of what was going on when really all I had to do was slow down turn on a light and just take the poem for what it is. I would have to say that this is one of my top favorite poems because for one its is simple and also because it teaches the keys to success in reading poems.

Desert Places by Robert Frost
I'm first going to start out by giving you the antecedent scenario of Robert Frost, he was an American poet and is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech. After reading this then reading his poem Desert Places that the poem is true and we just need to read it to understand it! Ha ha so in the first stanza he states that the snow is falling and the night is falling on a field he looked into. To me this made me feel that memories are being covered up by this "snow" and a few important or disturbing thoughts cannot be covered up ( weeds and stubble.) The second stanza tells us about how the poet is in a way lonely. Lonely form now throughout the poem and i believe he has lost something very important to him and nothing can every cover that up and the "snow" proves that by not completely covering everything up.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. I feel lost in this poem and cant wait for someone to do it in class

It was a dream
This poem has 14 lines and is known as a free verse. This is a free verse and not a sonnet because it lacks a rhyme scheme. Aside for this she talks about how she has had a dream and she was criticizing herself on the life she is currently living and how she can be doing better in living the life she wanted. In other words of people telling you what your doing wrong and how it is going to come back in the future and affect your like. She also uses figurative language to describe how she looked "sparked her wild eyes" To me this is telling me that she feels that she realizes that in the life she has lived she has done nothing to significant but deep down inside she wants to change what she has done and fill it with a moments that are more important but she feels that she cant because it is tooooooooooooooooooo late. i believe that a lot of us have this feeling that we look back on what we have done and asked ourselves if what we are doing is important and will we remember it.

Cottonmouth Country
Fish bones walked the waves off Hatteras.
And there were other signs
That Death wooed us, by water, wooed us
By land: among the pines
An uncurled cottonmouth that rolled on moss
Reared in the polluted air.
Birth, not death, is the hard loss.
I know. I also left a skin there.
As I was reading this poem I looked up what Hatteras was and it was said to be a Island in North Carolina and is the country's most visited parks. This poem has feeling that many people have about a place they love. As said in line 7 "Birth, not, death, is the hard loss." To me this is saying that death brings change but so does birth and when they die they are the hard ones to lose. Line 8 states that "I also left a skin there" and as i read this I found that maybe he lived there and had made many great memories but as the time came he had to leave. Which brings me to the start of the poem because as the fish bones walked the waves of Hatteras it is referring to people like himself because the best parts of him where always there and he left his skin to fill or cover the bones walking the waves so there will always be a part of him where he loved to be.

Untiltled By Stephen Crane
I did the poem Untitled by Stephen Crane and it came to me as a sad poem or a poem where a person needs help. I see a person who is going through a hard time and does not know how to recover form his problem. In the poem they describe this person who is sitting in the desert eating his own heart as a creature, naked, and bestial. As he was eating his heart a second person enters the poem and sees the problemed person eating his heart and asks " Is it good friend?" The poor man answers "It is bitter-bitter," he answered "But I like it because it is bitter, and because it is my heart." As this is said i made me feel that his guy loved himself for who he was and even though he knew he did something wrong and no one can forgive him, he finds that his heart even though is bitter it fills him and forgives him as well. Now a bit of the structure of the poem, it is all one stanza with a total of 10 lines. It is broken up into two sentences by a period (.) The first sentence I believe it sets the setting and what is going to happen in the poem. As the second sentence approaches it has more dialect and tells why the poor helpless man is eating his heart. Have a Goooooooooooooooooooood day off!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mrs. White. :)
