The Road Not Taken

I chose this poem for many reasons, because as college nears I know that there is going to be many roads that open and there will be some good roads and bad roads and i only get to choose one. As I read this poem i took the structure into consideration because it is only one stanza and in the poem it states in line 2 "And sorry I could not travel both" this made me refer to the structure because he could not travel both and maybe that is why there is only one stanza. I like how he stands at the start of both roads and looks down each of them just as far as the other, which to me tells he gives each road a good or equal chance and does not just go down one road with out looking down the other. He also explains to us that one road is less traveled than the other which tells me that more people follow one another down a road instead of making a decision for themselves. At the end of the stanza he claims that he took the road that was less traveled and it has made all the differences. Im glad that he chose this road because this road has not been given the chance and he was the first to, and because he gave it a chance it ended up being a very rewarding road.

  1. I think it's nice to revisit poems. This one obviously made an impression and you came back to it. It's good to remember that we have options and choices. Which will you choose?
