Unveiling By: Linda Pastan
I am doing this poem because after we talked about it in class I really came up with some fantastic ideas about the themes presented. In lines 1 through 9 it talks about how this persons aunts, mother, father, and uncles are lieing in a cemetery passed away. The person in the poem states that as he or she walks up and down the tombs she says she does not feel sad for them, she just feels a bit left out. From this statement i took in alot and started to think on why she didnt feel sad because I know for a fact if these important people died in my life I would be so upset and sad there would be not enough words to explain how I would feel. Well this poem was wrote in 1932 about the time of our world wars, so maybe she was Jewish and the seceret that was held from her was that her race was not accepted and this is why she never wanted to be told why or how her loved ones died...... I hope you had a great weekend and HALLOWEEN and sorry I was not able to make it to the white house:::::::(((((((( BYEEEEEEe

Well, we missed you at the White house, but maybe next year! :) You have some good thoughts on this. I'm glad you decided to write about it. I think it helps to hear it in class and organize your thoughts and then blog about it--at least it helps me!
