Of Mere Being

As I read this poem, it took me awhile but I found out that this poem has a lot of meaning. This poem to me is say that the palm at the end of the mind is a reward or a place, and as the palm rises so do we as people or followers. Stevens uses bronze decor as a way to paint a picture of how this palm rises. Within the first two stanzas I believe that Stevens is trying to tell us that there is space that lies between the last thought and the minds end, and that religion is found within that space. Thus saying that when ever we stand in space "bronze decor" and that the palm and the bird blaze alike and that maker stands unknown.
