WOW it's late!!! First off just want to say that i enjoyed the book a lot more that the heart of darkness. The Great Gatsby had some real twisted things that went on throughout the story and made me just think, I just hope people are not like this today. What I mean by this is all the cheating that went on between the couples. Most if not all the characters in the story had another mistress that they where seeing besides there own wife or husband. Here is how it went: Tom was married to Daisy but Tom was seeing another girl named Myrtle on the side. Apart form them you had Daisy and the MAN Gatsby, well even though Tom was married to Daisy, Gatsby had a secret love for her that he only express to Nick, Daisy's cuz and the narrator of the story. Well in the end word started to get around and people started to find things out and people died who shouldn't have.
............Gatsby: Honestly I really liked Gatsby the most for many reasons. One reason he was taking on the role of a mystery man and it was really hard to figure this man out. Gatsby knew himself the best and didn't want many people to know who he was. Another reason why I like Gatz is do to the fact he really never showed any emotion early on in the story but then opened up later on.
.............Questions/Thoughts.............In the novel there where basically two sides east egg(richer) and you had west egg(not as rich). In the middle of the two you had what was called the valley of ashes. This just really stuck out to me but I just couldn't put anything to it. What is the Valley of Ashes? What is its meaning?
Another thing I picked up on was the bill board of Doctor T.J Eckleburg. I kind of found this like the eyes that watch over everyone and sees how dumb founded these people really where. Significance???????? What?
................ End thoughts: form this book I learned that one Gatsby threw great parties and two that money can not buy happiness or love as it showed between Gatsby and Daisy.
